TRF launches month long programme on the occasion of World Environment Day

Mr PS Reddy, Managing Director, TRF Limited and Mr Rakeshwar Pandey, President, Tata Robins Fraser Labour Union (TRFLU) jointly planted a sapling today to kick-start the month-long environment programme in the Company. On the occasion of World Environment Day, today, a large number of senior executives of the company, members of the TRFLU and TRF Ladies Association (TRFLA) took part in the sapling plantation programme held in the area adjoining the rain water harvesting facility in TRF Colony.
TRF plans to plant saplings in much larger numbers once the soil and temperature becomes conducive for large-scale tree plantation. On this occasion, a brief update was given by the town department on the progress and yield from the organic farming initiative that was started last year. Future plans on the expansion of organic farming was also discussed.
Later in the day, a sale of saplings for the employees and associates was organized along with an exhibition by Institute of Solar Technologies, Jamshedpur Branch, that aimed to create awareness amongst the employees on various solar energy solutions that could be installed in large establishments. Waste paper management and its’ re-use, awareness programme on bio- gas and solar energy are some of the activities that will be held during this month.
