NTPC Mauda Project makes great headway
TRF has been making great headway on the Rs 296 crore contract for the independent Coal handling Plant at the 1000 MW coal based super thermal power plant at Mauda. The project comprises two units of 500 MW each under Stage I of the project. A Coal Handling Plant with a 1600 TPH coal conveying system will cater to the two units.
All equipment, services and installations for the Coal Handling Plant, with a 100% standby parallel stream, Crusher House, Trippers, three Wagon Tipplers and two Stacker Reclaimers along with the associated reclaim conveyor, auxiliaries and other facilities are to be installed at Mauda. This project has 13 transfer points and 34 conveyors.
The scope of work for TRF also includes detailed design of all the systems, engineering data, drawings, site survey, commissioning procedures and O & M manuals, equipment for approval and records along with the responsibility for providing all materials, equipment and services. Emphasis has been placed on pre-engineered and pre-fabricated structures made of steel and use of ash and ash based products in line with Gazette Notification on Ash Utilisation issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
Project Status
Civil Work
The project team has completed civil work on all conveyors and transfer points. Civil work for the Wagon Tippler area is 80% complete, while the RCC floor of the Crusher House and the Stacker Reclaimer has reached 60% of the final construction required.
Structural Work
95% of the structural work for the Crusher House has been completed, while the conveyors and transfer points are in various stages of completion.
Equipment Completion
At the Crusher House, four crushers have been erected while work is in its early stages at the Wagon Tippler and Stacker Reclaimer area. Over 50% of the work has been completed at the Conveyors and Transfer Points.
