One hundred and eighty-six (186) units of blood were successfully donated by employees and associates of TRF Limited at the voluntarily blood donation camp of TRF – ‘Navjeevan’. The bi-annual event was met with overwhelming response as a result of which the annual tally of blood units collected at ‘Navjeevan’ in current financial year is 343 units. This is better than last year’s collection of 319 units. The ‘Navjeevan’ camp organized by TRF Ladies Association* at TRF premises was successfully conducted with the help of Blood Bank of Jamshedpur and Voluntary Blood Donors Association of Jamshedpur. During the inauguration, the medical department of TRF also announced that it would donate over 50 blood issue coupons to needy cancer patients of Meherbhai Tata Memorial Hospital, Jamshedpur.

Dr (Mrs) Archana Srivastava of TRFLA welcomed the employees of the Company and lauded their commitment to serve colleagues and fellow citizens by participating in the camp. She gave a brief update on the numerous community welfare programmes of the Ladies Association and appealed to the employees to support the Association by voluntarily participating in its literacy and education, women empowerment programmes.

Mr Sanjay Kumar Jha, General Secretary of Tata Robins Fraser Labour Union said that, blood donation was a noble activity hence he said that the camp has been appropriately named as, ‘Navjeevan’. He said that blood donation was a life-saving activity as it saved families from getting destabilized due to loss of earning member of the family. While appreciating the efforts of the Association in serving the community he appealed to all employees to not to hesitate in donating blood.

Mr Sandeep Tanwar, VP-Projects, said that since the donor was unaware of the name of the beneficiary it was an honorable task. He appreciated the employees for their willingness to donate blood voluntarily without any financial consideration.

’Navijan’ camp was formally inaugurated by lighting of lamp by Mr Sandeep Tanwar, VP-Projects, Mr Sanjay Kumar Jha, Dr (Mrs) Archana Srivastava, Dr RN Bahadur, Mr Sanjay Kumar and Mr RB Rai.
