“Navjivan”, Blood Donation Camp gets overwhelming response

“Navjivan” the blood donation camp organised recently by TRF Ladies Association (TRFLA) at TRF premises got an overwhelming response from employees and associates of TRF Limited. The camp was successful in collecting 157 units of blood donated voluntarily from them. The blood donation camp was successfully conducted with support and co-operation of Blood Bank of Jamshedpur and the Voluntary Blood Donors’ Association of Jamshedpur. In the last financial year, the TRFLA had been able to collect 319 units from two “Navjivan” camps.

During the inauguration of ‘Navjivan’, Mrs P Vijaya Radhika, Chairperson, TRFLA welcomed the employees of the Company and lauded their commitment to serve fellow citizens by participating in the camp. She appealed to the employees to support the Association by voluntarily participating in its literacy and education, women empowerment, health management programmes. She also threw light on the numerous community welfare programmes of the association.

The efforts of the association in serving the community was appreciated by the Deputy President of Tata Robins Fraser Labour Union, Mr. M Hiramanek. He said that “blood donation is a noble activity, we must participate in it and motivate our friends and colleagues also. He also appealed to the employees to not to hesitate in donating blood as it is a lifesaving act.”

‘Navijan’ camp was formally inaugurated by the lighting of lamp by Mrs P Vijaya Radhika, Mr M Hiramanek, Mr MH Patel, Mr Sanjay Kumar and Mr RB Rai. During the inauguration, the medical department of TRF also announced that it would donate over 40 blood issue coupons to needy cancer patients of Meherbhai Tata Memorial Hospital, Jamshedpur.
