Product Innovation: Smooth Double Roll Crusher

To meet the unique requirements of its customer's TRF has been constantly adding capacity, features that enhance performance and optimize power consumption and improve the safety and ergonomics of its existing products.  The company has consistently shown agility in responding to the markets’ requirements for efficient bulk material handling products with variants most suitable to meet each customer's needs. Most recently, TRF’s engineers and production managers designed and developed smooth double roll crusher for Bharat Heavy Engineering Limited (BHEL)/ National Metal Development Corporation (NMDC). 

The double roll crusher is an intermediate crusher used for crushing the charged raw material mainly by means of compression in the gap between the two rolls mutually rotating inward. The raw material charged from inlet port enters the gap between the two rolls and then it is crushed by compression, impact and shear exerted by the roll faces sides. 

The crushed material is discharged from lower part of crusher as product. The crusher has a rated capacity of 35-ton per hour (TPH) and design capacity of 42 TPH. It has been designed to handle coke from 45 to 65 HGI reducing the Coke from -34 mm to -8 mm (90%) and same will soon be installed by BHEL at National Mineral Development Corporation’s (NMDC) 3-million tons per annum plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh. 

The Smooth Double Roll Crusher is 1200mm long with a dia of 1200mm. This can also be used for secondary or tertiary crushers for materials such as ROM coal, limestone, gypsum, trona, shale, bauxite, oil shale, clean coal, coke, salt, lime, glass, kaolin, brick, shale and wet, sticky feeds.  Designed for safety and many years of operation, effective tramp protection against non-crushable material is provided by an automatic hydraulic system. This allows a movable roll to open, pass the material and return to its original setting for continued operation. Hydraulic product size adjustment allows producers to adjust for changes in product size requirements or to compensate for roll wear.
